Robert Tmej

Robert Tmej is a Senior Advisor with the Ontario Ministry of Energy in the Renewables and Energy Efficiency Division.  He is currently working on energy performance standards, regulations, and national and provincial building and energy code upgrades.
At the Energy Ministry, Robert helped implement the Green Communities Initiative and the Green Energy Act, 2009.  At the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade he worked on industrial manufacturing policies, corporate restructuring issues and skilled trades and distributed generation technology multi-stakeholder committees.  Prior to joining the Ontario Public Service, he worked in the residential and commercial construction sector focusing on hydronic heating and solar thermal systems.
Over the years, Robert has volunteered many hours as President and Treasurer with the Czechoslovak community charity Masaryk Memorial Institute, which includes a seniors housing complex (MPH), newspaper (Novy Domov) and recreational park.  In addition to serving as a Director to Tribute to Liberty, he also serves on the Boards of the Sokol Gymnastic Association of Toronto and Sokol Canada, and works with the community–focused Czech and Slovak Association of Canada.
He is a past Board member of the Energy Action Council of Toronto and worked with a dedicated team of building and design professionals to receive a CMHC Healthy Housing Design Competition Award.  
Robert has a degree in geography from York University and is married with two active young children in Mississauga, Ontario.
